Established in October 2023, the António Pargana Foundation aims to contribute to strengthening ties between Portugal and the diaspora, particularly among students with hereditary or emotional ties to the country.
The António Pargana Foundation is a private foundation established to promote awareness of Portugal’s history, culture and scientific and technological capabilities, whilst strengthening the ties between the diaspora and their descendants and the country. The Foundation aims to address the lack of knowledge about Portugal, particularly amongst the younger generation of the diaspora, by fostering a greater understanding of contemporary developments in Portugal.
FAP seeks to forge meaningful links between Portugal and the countries of the diaspora, engaging young people of Portuguese descent aged between 20 and 30. Through exchange and cooperation programmes, the Foundation strengthens cultural, academic and economic ties, offering a first-hand experience of Portuguese life and fostering a sense of belonging and connection to the country.
The António Pargana Foundation strengthens the bond between Portugal and its diaspora, fostering greater mutual understanding and a closer, more structured relationship with younger generations.
Aimed primarily at people of Portuguese descent, the Foundation seeks to provide concrete opportunities to engage with contemporary life in Portugal through programmes developed in partnership with universities and other leading organisations.
These programmes, carried out in collaboration with public and private institutions, companies, and national and international organisations, offer an integrated experience that combines academic training, engagement with the business community, and interaction with cultural and social institutions.
Through this approach, the Foundation aims not only to strengthen these young people’s connection to Portugal, but also to create the conditions for the development of networks of contact and cooperation, harnessing their potential as bridges between Portugal and the world.
The incorporation of talent from Diaspora countries into Portuguese companies is also part of the range of activities to be developed by the Foundation.
