The programme “Cultural Heritage and Identity: Tourism and Sustainability”, developed in partnership between the António Pargana Foundation and IPAM, has as its primary educational objective to provide an integrated understanding of cultural heritage as a fundamental element of identity and a strategic resource for sustainable tourism. The aim is for participants to develop a critical understanding of the relationship between culture, territory and the tourist experience, recognising the value of heritage — both tangible and intangible — in the construction of authentic and distinctive narratives.
Throughout the programme, participants are encouraged to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experiences within the urban context of Porto, acquiring skills in the analysis, interpretation and enhancement of heritage in different tourism contexts. The training programme also promotes reflection on sustainable and responsible practices, preparing participants to engage in a conscious and informed manner in the fields of tourism and culture.
