António Pargana took part as a guest speaker in the plenary session “Success Stories of the Diaspora” at the “Portugal Nação Global” event, which took place at the Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbon on 29 and 30 April.
The session aimed to celebrate the success stories of Portuguese people abroad, highlighting the economic and reputational value of the diaspora as a strategic global asset. The importance of mobilising these communities as agents of investment, expansion and influence was emphasised, strengthening the link between Portugal and its talents around the world.
Joining António Pargana at the session were Luísa Buinhas, Co-founder and Chief Programme Officer of Vyoma GmbH in Germany, and Jorge Viegas, President of the International Motorcycling Federation in Switzerland.
During his speech, António Pargana presented the Foundation and its mission to promote awareness of Portugal’s history, culture and scientific and technological capabilities among the diaspora, particularly among younger generations. Through programmes and partnerships with universities, FAP seeks to bring young people of Portuguese descent closer to the reality of Portugal, strengthening cultural, academic and economic ties and promoting networks of international collaboration.
The Founder emphasised the importance of the “Portugal Global Nation” event in reinforcing the central role of the diaspora in Portugal’s internationalisation strategy, highlighting its role as a bridge between the country and global markets.
